Set default workspace UI

Who can do this?

You need to be an admin user in Atlan to set the default workspace UI.

Turning on Default Workspace UI in Labs moves every user in your workspace to Atlan's new UI. Once it's on, users can no longer switch back to the classic UI themselves. The option to switch back to the classic UI is removed from their workspace.

This can't be undone by users

Once Default Workspace UI is on, individual users can't switch back to the classic UI. If your workspace needs to revert to the classic UI for everyone, contact Atlan support.

Before turning this on, Atlan recommends opting in through the home page banner first so admins and users can try the new UI while still keeping the option to switch back.

Set default workspace UI​

To set the default workspace UI for everyone in your workspace:

  1. In your Atlan workspace, click Settings from the left menu.

    If you are using the Old UI (Classic), from the left menu in Atlan, click Admin.

  2. Click Labs.

  3. On the Labs page, turn on Default Workspace UI.

  4. In the confirmation dialog box, review the notice that users can't switch back to the classic UI afterward, and click Yes to confirm.

All users in your workspace move to the new UI the next time they open Atlan, and the option to switch back to the classic UI is no longer available to them.
