Switch between UI versions Private Preview

Connect docs via MCP

Atlan provides two user interfaces: the new UI and the Old UI (Classic). Both interfaces give you access to the same features, data, and configurations, but use different navigation patterns and sidebar layouts. You can switch between them at any time without affecting your data or settings.

In the new UI, a few features also have new names. These are display-level changes only: your routes, APIs, saved preferences, and existing import files all continue to work as before. The main changes:

  • Glossary is now Business Graph, the connected layer where each term links to the assets and domains it relates to.
  • Insights is now Data Exploration, the workspace where you query and explore your connected assets.
  • Data Products is now Domains & Products, separating domains (the business areas that organize your data) from the data products within them.

For a full overview of what's changing, what stays the same, and where everything moved, see Atlan's new UI.

Who can do this?

Anyone with access to Atlan (admin, member, or guest user) can switch between UI versions for their own account.

Prerequisites

  • The new UI must be enabled for your Atlan tenant. If you don't see the Try the new experience option in your profile menu, contact Atlan support to request private preview access.

Switch between UI versions

You can switch between the new UI and the Old UI (Classic) at any time. The switch only changes your view. Your data, permissions, and configurations remain unchanged.

To switch from the Old UI (Classic) to the new UI:

  1. In the top-right corner of any screen in Atlan, click your name or profile picture.
  2. From the dropdown menu, click Try the new experience.
  3. Click the toggle to confirm the switch.
  4. Atlan reloads the page and opens in the new UI.

Your interface preference is saved to your user profile and persists across sessions. The next time you log in to Atlan, you are taken to your preferred interface.
