View query logs
Query logs record every query run in Atlan: queries from the Insights editor, API queries, and sample data preview requests. Use them to audit who queried what, investigate failures, and track usage patterns. Logs are retained for the lifetime of your Atlan instance.
Prerequisites
- You are an admin in Atlan.
View query logs

In your Atlan workspace, click Settings from the left menu.
If you are using the Old UI (Classic), from the left menu, click Admin.

Under Logs, click Query logs.

The page shows all queries run by your users. For each query you can see the query name, connection, execution details, user, and timestamp.

(Optional) Click the funnel icon to filter queries:
- Status: filter by run status: Succeeded, Failed, or Aborted.
- Users: filter by specific Atlan users.

(Optional) Use the search bar to find queries by keyword.

(Optional) The default date range is 30 days. Use the date filter to view the last 7 days, past 3 or 6 months, or a custom range.

Click any query row to open the Query details sidebar. From there you can:
- View the full query text, connection, database, schema, asset name, status, and run time.
- Click the copy icon to copy the query.
- Click the expand icon to view the full query in fullscreen.
- Under Query Source, click Copy ID to copy the query ID.
Need help?
If queries are missing from the log or the log is not loading, verify you have admin access and try refreshing. Contact Atlan Support if the issue persists.
