Make a query interactive

Make queries interactive by defining custom variables that others can modify. Share queries with controlled modifications where only variable values can change, not the underlying query logic.

Provide credentials to query data

Enter your own username and password or key pair for a connection in Atlan when bring-your-own-credentials (BYOC) is enabled, so Atlan queries and previews data with your own data source permissions instead of a shared account.

Query data

Query data in Atlan using SQL or the Visual Query Builder. Write custom SQL queries, use read-based statements, preview results, and schedule queries to run on a schedule.

Query without shared credentials

Enable bring-your-own-credentials (BYOC) on a connection in Atlan so each user queries with their own data source login, and Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, or other source permissions are enforced on every query instead of one shared account.

Save and share queries

Save queries to collections for reuse, scheduling, and sharing. Organize queries with descriptions and certificates, assign terms, and control sharing permissions by granting viewer or editor access to other users and groups.

Schedule a query

Schedule saved queries to run repeatedly on a schedule. Configure hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly runs with custom cron expressions, and automatically share results with users via email.

View query logs

Track all queries run in Atlan from the query editor, API, and sample data previews. Includes run status, user, connection, and timing. Query logs are retained for the lifetime of your Atlan instance.
