Ingest data quality metadata

Connect docs via MCP

You can use the Telmai app to fetch data quality metadata from your Telmai instance and enrich your existing Atlan assets with dimension scores, policy results, and deep links back to Telmai.

Prerequisites​

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • Access to the Telmai app in the Atlan marketplace. Search for Telmai in the marketplace to verify access. If you don't have access, contact Atlan support to request it.
  • Completed Set up Telmai
  • The following credentials:
    • API URL: The base URL of your Telmai environment (for example, https://app.telm.ai)
    • Tenant ID: Your Telmai tenant identifier, available from the Telmai admin dashboard
    • API Key: The API key generated from your Telmai account settings

Create ingestion workflow​

Create an ingestion workflow to fetch data quality metadata from Telmai and enrich your existing assets.

  1. In your Atlan workspace, click Connectors in the left sidebar.

    • If you are using the Old UI (Classic), click New Workflow in the top navigation.

  2. Click Marketplace.

  3. Search for Telmai and select it.

  4. Click Install.

  5. Once installation completes, click Setup Workflow on the same tile.

Configure credentials​

Provide your Telmai API credentials to authenticate the connection.

  1. Enter the base URL of your Telmai environment in API URL.

  2. Enter your Telmai tenant identifier in Tenant ID.

  3. Enter your API key in API Key.

  4. Click Test Authentication to verify connectivity to Telmai.

  5. After authentication succeeds, click Next at the bottom of the screen.

Map connections​

Map your Atlan connections to the corresponding Telmai connections.

  1. For each Atlan connection you want to enrich, select the corresponding Telmai connection that points to the same underlying data source.

  2. Click Check to verify that the connection mapping is valid and that the required permissions are in place.

Run workflow​

Run the ingestion workflow to sync data quality metadata from Telmai to your existing assets.

  1. Choose how to run the ingestion:

    • Click Run to start a one-time sync of data quality metadata
    • Click Schedule & Run to set up automated recurring syncs

Validate results​

After ingestion completes, confirm that data quality metadata has been applied to your assets.

  1. In Atlan, navigate to an asset that was mapped to a Telmai connection.

  2. Open the asset profile and click the Telmai tab.

  3. Verify that the tab is present and displays dimension scores, policy results, and a deep link to Telmai.

If the Telmai tab doesn't appear on an expected asset, confirm that the asset exists in Telmai and was included in a scanned connection. For further help, submit a support request.
