The SAP Analytics Cloud connector is built to work with the SAP Datasphere connector. Together with the SAP S/4HANA and SAP BW/4HANA connectors, these connectors are how Atlan supports SAP Business Data Cloud:
- SAP S/4HANA: the business applications where operational data originates.
- SAP BW/4HANA: the enterprise data warehouse that models and consolidates SAP data.
- SAP Datasphere: the data layer that brings SAP and non-SAP data together into spaces, views, and analytic models.
- SAP Analytics Cloud: the analytics layer where business users build models and stories.
When you crawl SAP Datasphere and SAP Analytics Cloud, Atlan connects SAP Analytics Cloud Live models to the SAP Datasphere analytic models they read from. You can trace lineage from SAP Datasphere through SAP Analytics Cloud models to the stories built on them. For lineage across these connectors, crawl SAP Datasphere before you crawl SAP Analytics Cloud.
The SAP Analytics Cloud connector also works on its own. You don't need SAP Business Data Cloud or any of the other SAP connectors to catalog SAP Analytics Cloud assets and the lineage between models and stories.
