Atlan crawls and maps folders, stories, models, model columns, and lineage from SAP Analytics Cloud.
Atlan crawls and maps the following assets and properties from SAP Analytics Cloud. Atlan reads metadata from the file repository, the Data Import and Data Export services, and the story listing.
Folders
Atlan maps SAP Analytics Cloud folders to its SapAnalyticsCloudFolder asset type. Nested folders keep their parent folder.

Atlan maps SAP Analytics Cloud models to its SapAnalyticsCloudModel asset type. Atlan catalogs both Import models, which store data in SAP Analytics Cloud, and Live models, which query a remote system through a live connection.

Live models appear directly under the connection, not in a folder, because SAP Analytics Cloud only exposes them through the stories that use them. A Live model that no story uses isn't cataloged.
Columns
Atlan maps the dimensions, measures, and attributes of Import models to its SapAnalyticsCloudColumn asset type. Atlan reads them from the model's Data Export service metadata.

Atlan doesn't crawl columns for Live models, or for Import models that have no Data Export provider.
Lineage
Atlan builds lineage between SAP Analytics Cloud assets and from SAP Datasphere into SAP Analytics Cloud. Each lineage process has one downstream asset and every upstream asset that feeds it.

To see lineage from SAP Datasphere, crawl SAP Datasphere before you crawl SAP Analytics Cloud. Atlan matches a Live model to a SAP Datasphere view with the same technical name. If no view matches, Atlan doesn't create the lineage. If views with the same name exist in more than one SAP Datasphere space, Atlan links the first match.
Atlan creates lineage only between assets it catalogs. If a folder filter excludes one end of a lineage relationship, Atlan doesn't create that lineage. Atlan doesn't build column-level lineage or upstream lineage for Live models that connect to SAP HANA or SAP BW.
Assets Atlan doesn't crawl
- Calendar templates, planning sequences, and themes.
- SAP Analytics Cloud system models, such as
ACTIVITY_LOG,LICENSE, andUSER_ADOPTION. - Live connections as separate assets. Atlan records live connection details on each Live model instead.
Atlan catalogs sample stories and flags them with sapAnalyticsCloudIsSample.
Currently, Atlan only represents the assets marked with 🔀 in lineage.
