How to partner with Atlan on new product development?
Atlan works closely with all customers and partners. You can engage with your CSM to start going deep on problem areas where you want to collaborate more closely with Atlan's product and engineering teams on potential solutions.
What does this process look like?
Atlan's product and engineering teams focus on partnership-driven validation of problem statements and solutioning for long-term business value. These teams embed with customers and partners as design partners in the discovery process of which problems are most critical to solve together.
The goal is rapid feedback loops, moving from idea to user validation in 1–2 weeks wherever possible.
Does this mean Atlan builds specific features you request?
No. Atlan focuses on identifying the biggest value drivers for long-term success for partners, not individual features. This can mean not building something that a specific customer sees as adding value right now so that investment goes into a larger pattern of problems that drive greater business impact. Sometimes Atlan and a customer work closely together and realize that no new product functionality in Atlan needs to be built at all, but that both teams have learned more about how to solve a business problem together in a different way.
Does Atlan change features you have been using?
Atlan ships new functionality through a set of product release stages. For some functionality Atlan goes straight to GA, but often the product teams work closely with a set of design partners on extended private previews. In preview stages the team might completely change direction on an experimental module or revamp how functionality works as everyone learns together what's going to deliver the most business value. The specifics vary greatly for each function. Once something reaches GA it's exceedingly unlikely to be deprecated.
How does pricing work when partnering with Atlan on preview functionality?
Pricing varies feature by feature, but generally Atlan doesn't charge for preview features. As part of the discovery, research, and build process, the Atlan team and your team discuss the business value of what's being built and align on how it might be priced if and when it reaches a more mature state.
