> Learn about the features and capabilities of the Slack integration with Atlan.

With two of your most important workspaces connected, you can save time and improve the way you share data assets with your team.

Once you [integrate Slack with Atlan](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/governance/integrations/integrate-slack/llms.txt) you can do all of the following — all without leaving Atlan!

- Share data assets on Slack
- Link important Slack threads to Atlan assets
- Start Slack conversations
- Set up Slack notifications for [announcements](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/governance/integrations/create-announcements/llms.txt), [governance workflows](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/governance/stewardship/manage-governance-workflows/llms.txt), [glossary updates](#enable-alerts-for-glossary-updates-in-atlan), [starred assets](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/catalog/discovery/star-assets/llms.txt), and [playbook runs](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/governance/playbooks/manage-playbooks/llms.txt)

When users share assets on Slack (like assets, glossaries and saved queries) Atlan provides an embedded preview and context for the asset directly in Slack.

:::info

💪 **Did you know?** To use all of the features outlined, each user needs to [connect their individual Slack account](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/governance/integrations/link-your-slack-account/llms.txt) to their Atlan profile.
