## Data and storage

#### Is my data copied into Fabric?

No. OneLake shortcuts reference the Iceberg data in place on Atlan-hosted storage. There's no copy and no data movement. Fabric reads the tables through the shortcuts while the data stays where it is.

#### What does Atlan create in my Fabric workspace?

A schema-enabled lakehouse, an ADLS Gen2 connection, and one OneLake shortcut per Iceberg table in your Metadata Lakehouse.

#### Which Fabric workloads can query tables?

Power BI, notebooks, and the SQL analytics endpoint can all query the shortcut tables.

## Setup and authentication

#### What are prerequisites?

A Microsoft Fabric workspace on a Fabric capacity (an F-SKU capacity or a Fabric trial), a Fabric license for the administrator who signs in, and workspace edit rights for that administrator.

#### How does Atlan authenticate to Fabric?

You sign in to Microsoft Fabric once and grant a delegated OAuth consent. Atlan creates the shortcuts as you, using that consent. No customer-managed service principal is required.

#### Can I limit which tables are shortcut-ed?

Yes. Apply the optional table filter before running setup to scope the run to a subset of tables. Leave it empty to include all available tables.

## Re-running setup

#### What happens if I run setup again?

The run is idempotent. Existing shortcuts are skipped, so re-running is safe.

#### How do I pick up new tables that appear later?

Re-run the setup. New Iceberg tables get new shortcuts, while existing ones are skipped.
