# Connect Microsoft Fabric to Lakehouse

Query your Atlan Metadata Lakehouse tables directly in Microsoft Fabric—zero copy. For how OneLake shortcuts virtualize Lakehouse tables into Fabric, see [How it works](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/catalog/lakehouse/what-is-atlan-lakehouse/llms.txt).

From **Admin → Lakehouse → the Fabric tab**, an administrator connects a Microsoft Fabric workspace and Atlan creates a Microsoft OneLake shortcut for each Iceberg table in your Metadata Lakehouse. Your metadata tables become queryable across Fabric—Power BI, notebooks, and the SQL analytics endpoint—with no data movement.

## Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

- A Microsoft Fabric workspace on a **Fabric capacity**—either an F-SKU capacity or a Fabric trial.
- A **Fabric license** for the administrator who signs in to connect.
- **Workspace edit rights** for that administrator in the target Fabric workspace.

Atlan handles everything else, including the underlying storage. You don't need to provision storage or manage any credentials for this integration.

## Connect your Fabric workspace

1. In Atlan, go to **Admin → Lakehouse** and open the **Fabric** tab.

2. Select **Connect to Fabric**. Sign in with your Fabric administrator account and grant consent once. This authorizes Atlan to create OneLake shortcuts in your chosen workspace.

3. (Optional) Apply a **table filter** to scope which Metadata Lakehouse tables are shortcut-ed. Leave it empty to shortcut all available tables.

4. Select **Run setup**. Atlan creates a OneLake shortcut for each selected Iceberg table and reports progress as it goes.

When setup finishes, your Metadata Lakehouse tables are available in the connected Fabric workspace, ready to query.

## Next steps

Now that Microsoft Fabric is connected to Lakehouse, you can:

- **Explore the metadata you can query**: See the available tables in the [Entity metadata reference](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/catalog/lakehouse/entity-metadata/llms.txt).
- **Find use cases**: Explore popular patterns such as metadata enrichment tracking, lineage impact analysis, and glossary alignment in [Use cases](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/catalog/lakehouse/overview/llms.txt).
- **Check common questions**: See the [Microsoft Fabric FAQ](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/catalog/lakehouse/microsoft-fabric/llms.txt) for how authentication, re-runs, and new tables work.
