## Add team members

> Add or remove users and groups from a persona in Atlan to control who inherits its access policies and view.

Add users or groups to a persona so they immediately inherit its policies and view, or remove them to revoke that access. Changes take effect on the user's next page load.

## Prerequisites

Before you change persona membership, make sure:

- You are an **admin** in Atlan, or you have the **Governance Admin** [sub-role](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/governance/access-control/delegate-administration/llms.txt).
- The persona you want to update exists. If not, [create it first](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/governance/access-control/create-a-persona/llms.txt).
- The users or groups you want to add already exist in your workspace. See [Invite new users](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/governance/access-control/invite-new-users/llms.txt) or [Organize teams in groups](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/governance/access-control/manage-groups/llms.txt).

## Add users or groups to persona

1. In your Atlan workspace, click **Settings** from the left menu.

 If you are using the **Old UI (Classic)**, from the left menu, click **Admin**.

2. Click **Persona** to open the personas list, then open the persona you want to update.

3. Click the **Add** button to the right of the _Users and groups_ box.

4. Select the users, groups, or both:

 - Under the **single-user icon**, select individual users.
 - Under the **double-user icon**, select groups.

5. Click **Update** to save. The selected users and groups immediately inherit the persona's policies and view.

## Remove users or groups from persona

1. In your Atlan workspace, click **Settings** from the left menu.

 If you are using the **Old UI (Classic)**, from the left menu, click **Admin**.

2. Click **Persona** to open the personas list, then open the persona you want to update.

3. In the _Users and groups_ box, click the **x** next to the user or group you want to remove.

4. Click **Update** to save. The removed user or group loses any access granted by this persona, though they keep any access granted by other personas they still belong to.
