Presto

Steps to configure the Presto Query engine for your data assets

What is Presto?

Presto is an open-source distributed SQL query engine for running interactive analytic queries against data sources of all sizes, ranging from gigabytes to petabytes. Presto lets you query data where it lives, including Hive, Cassandra, relational databases, or even proprietary data stores.

๐Ÿ“œ Prerequisites for Presto

Before you start integrating your Presto with Atlan, you'll need some information that will help establish a connection between Atlan and your Presto account:

  • Host

  • Port

  • Hive/Delta/Glue catalog name. This is the name of the catalog file in your Presto cluster for the respective integrations. The catalog files can be found in /etc/presto/catalogs/

โ€‹Query on Glue Assets. Typically the name of the catalog is glue

โ€‹Query on Hive assets. Typically the name of the catalog is hive

โ€‹Query on Delta Lake assets. Typically the name of the catalog is delta

๐ŸŒŸ Pro Tip: If you don't have this information handy, reach out to your cloud or data lake administrator to get these details before you get started!
