Atlan lets users suggest glossary terms that can be linked to different data assets. The Atlan Bot also recommends glossary terms, column descriptions, and classifications to be linked to your assets.

We can sense your concern ๐Ÿ˜ฐ for the hygiene, but don't worry! Approval mechanism to the rescue! ๐Ÿ˜Ž This makes sure that the overall standard of the Glossary and column descriptions is maintained.

๐Ÿ› ๏ธ A step-by-step guide to approve or disapprove requests of glossary terms

STEP 1: Go to the "Access" tab

STEP 2: Under "Access Control", select the "Requests" option

A screen will open, which shows all the terms and column descriptions requested by users. It also includes the name of the for which the glossary term or column description has been suggested.

STEP 3: Reject or approve the request

Click on the "Reject" or "Approve" options to process requests.

๐Ÿ’ก Tip: You can filter all the requests using the status filter or request type (column description, term, classification) filter on the top. The name of the person who approved or rejected them will also show up.

๐Ÿง™โ€โ™€๏ธ Remember: Unless the request is approved, the requested glossary terms and column descriptions will not be linked to data assets.

Autogenerated glossary suggestions follow the same approval flow. All the recommendations that our dear Atlan Bot makes will have to be first approved by Admins or Stewards.

โœจ Spotlight: You can also accept and reject requests in bulk using the select all check box given next to "Request".
