## Preflight checks for Bigeye

The following preflight checks are completed:

## Bigeye instance accessibility check

This check tests for the validity of the [host name URL and API key](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/connectors/bigeye/ingest-bigeye-data/llms.txt) you provided. If Atlan is unable to connect to your Bigeye instance, this may indicate that your credentials are either incorrect or invalid.

✅ `Check successful` if the Bigeye instance is available.

❌ `Unable to connect to your Bigeye instance`

## Permission (read access) check

This check tests whether or not you have the [required permissions](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/connectors/bigeye/set-up-bigeye/llms.txt) for querying the Bigeye API to fetch metadata.

✅ `Check successful`

❌ `User lacks edit access and no Bigeye sources are mapped to Atlan sources error.`
