# Crawl SAP Analytics Cloud

Create a SAP Analytics Cloud crawler workflow in Atlan to extract metadata from your tenant. The workflow configures the extraction method, the connection, and which folders to crawl.

## Prerequisites

Before you begin:

* Complete [Set up SAP Analytics Cloud](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/connectors/sap-analytics-cloud/set-up-sap-analytics-cloud/llms.txt) so the OAuth client is configured in your tenant.
* To see lineage from SAP Datasphere to SAP Analytics Cloud Live models, [crawl SAP Datasphere](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/connectors/sap-datasphere/crawl-sap-datasphere/llms.txt) first. Atlan links a Live model to its upstream SAP Datasphere object only if that object already exists in Atlan when the SAP Analytics Cloud crawler runs.
* Review the [order of operations](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/catalog/connector-capabilities/order-workflows/llms.txt) for connection workflows.

## Create crawler workflow

1. In your Atlan workspace, click **Connectors** in the left sidebar.
 * If you are using the **Old UI (Classic)**, click **New Workflow** in the top navigation.

2. Click **Marketplace**.

3. Search for **SAP Analytics Cloud** and select it.

4. Click **Install**.

5. Once installation completes, click **Setup Workflow** on the same tile.

### Configure extraction

Select your extraction method and provide the OAuth client details.

### Direct

In **Direct** extraction, Atlan connects to the SAP Analytics Cloud REST APIs and crawls metadata directly.

1. Enter your SAP Analytics Cloud OAuth details:
 - **SAC Tenant URL**: Enter your [tenant base URL](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/connectors/sap-analytics-cloud/set-up-sap-analytics-cloud/llms.txt), for example `https://<tenant>.<data-center>.analytics.cloud.sap`.
 - **OAuth Token URL**: Enter the **Token URL** of the [OAuth client you created](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/connectors/sap-analytics-cloud/set-up-sap-analytics-cloud/llms.txt). This is a different host from the tenant URL.
 - **OAuth Client ID** and **OAuth Client Secret**: Enter the credentials of the same OAuth client.

2. Click **Test Authentication** to confirm that Atlan can get an access token from SAP Analytics Cloud.

3. When successful, at the bottom of the screen click **Next**.

### Agent

In **Agent** extraction, Self-Deployed Runtime executes metadata extraction within your organization's environment. Agent extraction must be enabled for your Atlan tenant. Contact [Atlan support](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/platform/submit-request/submit-request/llms.txt) if you don't see the **Agent** option.

1. Install Self-Deployed Runtime if you haven't already:
 - [Install via Docker Compose](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/platform/self-deployed-runtime/install-on-docker-compose/llms.txt)
 - [Install on Kubernetes](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/platform/self-deployed-runtime/install-on-kubernetes/llms.txt)

2. Select the **Agent** tab.

3. Store the tenant URL, token URL, client ID, and client secret in the secret store configured with the Self-Deployed Runtime. In each field, enter the path of the corresponding secret. For more information, see [Secret management](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/platform/self-deployed-runtime/secret-management/llms.txt).

4. Click **Next** after completing the configuration.

### Configure connection

Complete the SAP Analytics Cloud connection configuration:

1. Enter a **Connection Name** that represents your source environment (for example, `production`, `development`, or `analytics`).

2. Under **Connection Admins**, add the users or groups that can manage this connection. If you leave this empty, no one can manage the connection, including admins.

3. At the bottom of the screen, click **Next**.

### Configure crawler

SAP Analytics Cloud content is organized in folders. Filters apply to top-level folders: selecting a folder also selects everything nested inside it.

### Direct

* Click **Include Folders** to choose which top-level folders to crawl. If you don't select any, Atlan crawls all folders.
* Click **Exclude Folders** to choose which top-level folders to skip. If a folder matches both filters, the exclude filter takes precedence.

### Agent

In Agent extraction, Atlan can't browse your tenant, so enter the filters as JSON. Each key is a regular expression matched against top-level folder names, and each value is an empty list.

* **Include Folders**: For example, `{"^PUBLIC$": []}` crawls only the `PUBLIC` folder. Leave empty to crawl all folders.
* **Exclude Folders**: For example, `{"^SYSTEM$": []}` skips the `SYSTEM` folder. If a folder matches both filters, the exclude filter takes precedence.

### Run crawler

1. In Direct extraction only, click **Preflight checks** to validate [connectivity and access](https://docs.atlan.com/llms/connectors/sap-analytics-cloud/preflight-checks-for-sap-analytics-cloud/llms.txt) before running.

2. At the bottom of the screen, click **Run** to run once, or **Schedule Run** to run hourly, daily, weekly, or monthly.

After the crawler completes, SAP Analytics Cloud folders, stories, models, and columns appear on the assets page, with lineage between them.
